Mississippi-based wireless carrier, C Spire announced it launched its app-based streaming TV service this week that eliminates the need for set-top boxes and revolutionizes how customers enjoy their favorite content.

The new, C Spire TV delivers the cable TV features supporting popular streaming devices from Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV with Roku availability expected "in the coming days". It reduces installation time, monthly costs and the need for replacement of outdated hardware, said the Operator.

C Spire TV also supports a cloud DVR service and also Replay TV feature where customers can watch most network programming that aired over the past three days on demand.

The new Spire TV service starts at $65/month for the standard package, which includes more than 100 channels, On Demand content and 50 hours of Cloud DVR. For an additional $20, consumers get an add-on package for for 50 more channels.

C Spire TV leverages an advanced recommendation engine to better understand customer habits and keep their favorite content front-and-center.

The new service eliminates the need for customers to outfit every TV in their house with a set-top box, freeing them from several hundred dollars a year in rental fees. Because it’s app-based, C Spire TV allows customers to watch their favorite content on virtually any screen in the home.
