Vodafone Germany has added PayPal and VISA into mobile wallet for contactless mobile payments. Customers can now use their PayPal account and their VISA credit card with their NFC smartphone for secure and convenient payment at the gas station, in the restaurant or in the supermarket.

To use the service, customers need a certified NFC smartphone with an active NFC SIM and a VISA credit card or PayPal account. Vodafone Germany customers who do not already have a PayPal account can register directly with PayPal via the Vodafone Wallet app.

In a separate news, Vodafone has reached an agreement with PayPal to enable contactless mobile payments charged to PayPal account in Spain. At the same time, Vodafone Netherlands announced that its customers can now link a PayPal account to their Vodafone Wallet for contactless payments. Customers need to have a special SIM to use the wallet app, an Android smartphone with a Smart M, Smart L, Red, Red essential, Red Super or Black subscription.

Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO, Vodafone Germany
This unique cooperation is a small revolution because, for the first time, our customers can use already known and, above all, widespread cash on their smartphone for non-contact payments with PayPal and VISA credit cards.
