Netherlands-based Altice Group, parent of SFR, France’s second largest mobile operator has agreed to sell its businesses in Belgium and Luxembourg to Liberty Global’s Belgian unit, Telenet Group. Telenet will acquire Coditel Brabant for € 400 million to extend its cable footprint in Brussels as well as in part of Wallonia and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Coditel Brabant provides cable services in Brussels, Wallonia and Luxembourg as well as mobile telephony services in Belgium through an MVNO agreement with BASE.

Since the acquisition of the Belgian mobile operator BASE in February 2016, Telenet has pursued a strategy to position itself as a leading provider of converged connected entertainment and B2B services across the country.
