Canada’s fourth largest provider of telecommunications services, Manitoba Telecom Services(MTS) has signed an agreement to sell its enterprise IP division, Allstream to Zayo Group, a US-based leading provider of communication infrastructure in an all cash transaction for $465 million. Zayo operates a 140,000-kilometre fibre-optic network in the United States and Europe.

Zayo said that the acquisition adds extensive intercity and metro fiber throughout Canada, and will establish Zayo as the only Pan-U.S./Canada communications infrastructure provider.
