Indonesia’s third-largest mobile phone operator, Indosat Ooredoo posted first-quarter consolidated revenues of 6.8 trillion Rupiah (USD$510 million), marking a growth of 11.8% against the same period the previous year. The revenue share of data continued to grow, making up 38% of the total Group revenue.
The operator recorded a net income of 217 billion Rupiah (USD$17 million), compared to a net loss of 455 billion Rupiah for the corresponding period last year.
Indosat Ooredoo said that its subscribers in the first quarter increased by 3.3 million compared to the first quarter of 2015, bringing its total registered subscribers to 69.8 million subscribers. Its main customer additions were dominated by data users who had driven the growth of its data traffic to 60.5% over the previous year, said the operator in a statement.
