Swedish telecom operator TeliaSonera on Friday reported fourth-quarter core earnings that saw the company posting higher EBITDA of 6.56 billion Swedish kronor ($771 million) versus 5.90 billion a year-ago. The operator, however recorded 3.01 billion kronor loss, compared to net profits of 2.94 billion kronor during the same period a year before. The loss is attributable mainly to write-offs in Uzbekistan and Denmark that totaled 7.20 billion kronor, according to TeliaSonera.

The operator plans to make heavy investments this year with a focus on accelerated fibre rollout in Sweden.
