Canada's leading mobile operator, TELUS recorded slightly (4.2%) higher operating revenue reaching $3.2 billion in the third quarter compared to a year earlier, as a result of higher data revenue in both wireless and wireline operations. The Vancouver-based operator also recorded a 2.8% higher net income in Q3, rising to $365 million compared with a year earlier.

In the quarter, TELUS attracted 119,000 net wireless postpaid, high-speed Internet and TV customers. This included 69,000 wireless postpaid customers, 26,000 Telus TV customers and 24,000 high-speed Internet subscribers. TELUS’ total wireless subscriber base went up 2.8 per cent from a year ago to 8.4 million, high-speed Internet connections went up by 6.3 per cent to 1.5 million, and TELUS TV subscribers increased by 10 per cent to 980,000.
