TIM, Brazil's second-largest wireless phone company, announces its final quarter and full year 2014 results with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 6 percent higher from a year earlier to R$1.558 billion reais. Albeit declining voice revenues, the company's data services increased 26 percent compared to a year earlier. TIM's data subscribers reached 34 million users, making up 45% of total base. In the last quarter, TIM also recorded higher gross data revenues, excluding SMS, with a 56 percent increase compared to the same quarter a year ago to R$1.86 bln.
TIM saw the penetration of smartphones reaching 50% over total base during the period.
