Vodafone India, India's second-largest communications services provider, reported a 15% rise in revenue to £1.1 billion for the quarter ended 31 December from a year earlier, the company reported. The growth was attributed to increasing data use, better quality of customers as well as help from the foreign exchange conversion rate. The company has added 4.8 million customers in the third quarter, reaching 178.7 million in total customer base.

According to Vodafone India, 70% of the company's revenue is from the mobile internet, showing a strong momentum in the data segment. The company saw a 30% growth in data customers and a 40% growth in average data usage per customer. It recorded a total of 59 million data customers, of which 3G customers made up 16.6 million.
