EE 4G Subscribers Hit 5.6 million, 82% New Postpaid Customers Opt for 4G

Britain's biggest mobile operator EE in its third quater results announcement said that its 4G customer base went up fourfold year-on-year (yoy) to 5.6m, recording its highest quarterly 4G net adds to date. EE said that 82% of all new postpaid customers selected 4G of which a third opted for double speed 4GEE Extra. 

EE's Mobile ARPU (mobile average revenue per user) has witnessed a steady increase of 1.6%, with the share of data (non-text) revenue posting a growth of +6 ppts year-on-year to 49% of ARPU compared to the same quarter last year.

EE showed an impressive Q3 postpaid mobile net adds of 178k including machine-to-machine (M2M) connections, bringing its total number of mobile connections to 31 million. However, EE's prepaid base reduced by 169k, a trend observed in the industry which is seeing a shift towards postpaid subscriptions, said EE.
