Indosat Ooredoo recently announced that its network showed good performance, including record data traffic during the New Year's Eve (31/12).

Data traffic increased to approximately 2,084.45 Terabyte/day, or up 11:26% compared to data traffic on a regular weekdays, said the Operator. Voice traffic nationwide on the day decreased to 364.64 million minutes, down approximately 4.97% compared to the voice traffic during a regular day. The highest decrease in traffic of voice occurred in the area around Bali Nusra (15:53%), Greater Jakarta and Banten (14.90%) and East Java (5:17%). 

However, SMS traffic on New Year's Eve rose to around 578.65 million SMS, up 4.68% compared to SMS traffic during a regular day.

Ooredoo Indosat said that it has prepared its network to anticipate the increase in traffic that is expected for the year-end holidays, by improving the quality and capacity of its network. 

The company said that it has increased the capacity of all services which include voice, SMS and data. Voice capacity was increased to 2,244 million minutes/day (37.4 million Erlang /day), SMS service capacity was increased to 1.892 billion SMS/day, and capacity of data network was increased to 6.890 terabytes/day.
