M2M World Alliance Unveiled Multi-Operator Solution to Connect Devices Globally at In-Market Rates

The M2M World Alliance unveiled its machine-to-machine (M2M) solution that will leverage the operators’ combined global presence for the benefit of customers who are looking for a regional or global M2M deployments. The alliance, which is comprised of SingTel, Etisalat, KPN, NTT DOCOMO, Rogers, Telefonica, Telstra and VimpelCom, allows companies to enjoy connectivity throughout the members coverage area with in-market rates and some other benefits such as easier compliance with local market regulations and the potential for multinationals to provide global technical support from a single market. The alliance has also identified major growth areas in connected cars, fleet management, smart meters, consumer electronics, game consoles, wearable electronics, tele-health and security solutions.
