A quick snapshot by Mashable, the popular internet news blog, on the LTE subscription among the major countries in the world shows that the United States is leading ahead of others with 47 million LTE subscribers, while South Korea and Japan take the second and third place with the figures of 20 million and 14 million respectively. According to the post, South Korea has the highest percapita figure for LTE subscription. Their report also highlights the rapid increase in the number of LTE subscribers in the US from 22 million in September 2012 to more than double of that 6 months later. With lifestyles that has become dependent on the on-line culture and with the huge amount of highly demanded content being churned out every day, the US is expected to stay ahead of others for the foreseeable future, especially as smart phones continue to penetrate the population and more and more day-to-day services go on-line.
