The idea of connected cars and connected humans share the same concept - more connection means more empowerment. Just as 4G LTE and the data services increase a human being's capability of receiving data and interacting with others by leaps and bounds, connected cars will become just as empowered - from maintenance to navigation, from diagnosis to traffic management and from providing information and infotainment to passengers, these 'intelligent' cars can now look after their own 'welfare' by providing the right information at the right time (think your car telling you to fill up on fuel because it can run only another 20 km but the next gas station after the immediate one is another 55 km away) apart from providing all the information needs of their passengers.

Accenture, in its open forum, examined the idea of 'Connected cars' where they took a lot at the technologies underpinning the widespread adoption of the connected car, the wireless technologies used and what will happen when it is all seamlessly integrated together.
