Deutsche Telekom has appointed Soren Abildgaard as the new CEO for T-Mobile Netherlands, succeeding from Martin Knauer, who has worked as interim CEO since September last year, when Mark Klein stepped down.

Soren, 48, previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Telia Company and has eighteen years of experience in the European telecommunications sector. Prior to joining the Telia Group, Soren was the CEO of Telia Denmark, where he has made the company as the leading mobile operator in the Danish market.

Before that, he was CEO of Call Me Denmark and has had undertaken various positions in the Danish telecommunications sector, including in Customer Care, Brand and Marketing.

Thorsten Langheim, EVP Group Corporate Development, Deutsche Telekom
He has the skills to strengthen the challenger position of T-Mobile further into the Dutch market and to prepare the company for the future. I look forward to shake the Dutch telecommunications sector together with Soren.

Soren Abildgaad, In-coming CEO, T-Mobile Netherlands
The company has the right conditions to be successful: the best tested mobile network, bold and innovative propositions and a flexible, professional organization.
