Saudi Arabian mobile operator, Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) announced the appointment of Ahmed Abdelsalam Abdelrahman as CEO of the company, taking ove from Ahmad Farroukh. Farroukh had been at Mobily since 2015, having previously been CEO of MTN Nigeria and CEO of MTN South Africa.
Ahmed who has a progressive experience exceeding 24 years in telecommunications and ICT, will lead the company in its growth and expansion phase, said the Operator.
Ahmed holds to a Bachelor degree in Communications Engineering from Cairo University. He held the position of Managing Director and CEO in Global Telecom Holding as well as EVP of Vimplecom group for Asia and Africa. Prior to that, he was seconded by Orascom Group as CEO of Banglalink Telecom between 2009 and May 2011.
In December, Etisalat Group announced that it was working on developing a service and technical support agreement which will take into consideration Mobily’s requirements for the coming period given the scale of its operations and customer base.
