Reliance Jio Infocom has appointed Vishal Sampat as its Chief Digital Officer to lead the operator's digital marketing initiatives, according to Economic Times. Sampat was the CEO and Founder of SMG Convonix, a digital marketing solutions provider based in Mumbai, providing Search Engine Optimization(SEO), Pay Per Click, Social Media Marketing and Online Reputation Management services to small businesses and large enterprises.
The company which was founded in 2003 by Sampat with two other friends while they were at college, has grown from a three-man shop to a digital agency powerhouse with work spanning the globe. With a 400 strong talent base across three offices in Mumbai and Delhi, SMG Convonix claims that it is now one of the largest digital firms in India specializing in Performance Marketing. The company was later acquired by Starcom Mediavest Group to boost its digital offerings.
