Mobile network optimization solution provider, Vasona Networks, announced the appointment of a former Vodafone executive Rui Frazao as the company's chief technology officer. Frazao joins Vasona Networks following nearly 15 years of service at Vodafone, where he was most recently director of network engineering.
As director of network engineering for Vodafone, Frazao was responsible for the company’s Central European network engineering efforts covering Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary and the Czech Republic. His technical areas of responsibility included mobile radio, transmission, and core for voice, data, and enterprise solutions. Frazao also led the successful deployment of VoLTE across Vodafone Germany, notes Vasona Networks. Prior to his work with Vodafone, Frazao held engineering roles in other organizations, including Cisco.
Frazao is expected to work closely with global mobile network operators to assure results from their deployments of Vasona SmartAIR and SmartVISION solutions.
