VimpelCom has appointed Jon Eddy as its Head of Emerging Markets reporting to CEO, Jean-Yves Charlier. In his new role, Jon will be responsible for VimpelCom’s businesses in Algeria, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Jon’s appointment follows recent announcements by VimpelCom including Erik Aas' appointment as the new CEO of Bangladesh and Alexandr Komarov as the new CEO of Kazakhstan.

Jon who holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University was the CEO of dtac, Thailand’s second largest mobile operator, before leaving the position in September 2014. He has previously served as the CEO of Telenor Pakistan, Chief Operating Officer at Maxis Mobile and Chief Technology Officer at Digi Telecom in Malaysia.
