The operator has appointed Birgit Bjørnsen to lead the newly formed division that will be responsible for all broadband and TV services provided by the Canal Digital Cable TV and Telenor brands. Birgit Bjørnsen who started working for Telenor since 2000 moves to the role from her position as Marketing Director for Broadband and Fixed Telephony. She has held various managerial and directorial roles in sales, marketing and products in the mobile and fixed network divisions. Bjørnsen holds an MBA from the BI Norwegian Business School.

The reorganisation which will take effect on the 1st of January 2016 covers around 570 employees, and will not result in any reduction in personnel numbers, said the operator.

Berit Svendsen, CEO of Telenor Norway
This merger is important, and we have a great deal of work ahead of us. We will continue to invest billions of kroner in our infrastructure to ensure everyone has access to TV and Internet. This will allow us to provide Norwegians with the digital future they want.

By bringing together all our resources into one division, we will be able to provide a more competitive offering and develop our broadband and TV services quicker and more effectively than before.
