Telus has announced that Darren Entwistle will resume his service as the Company’s President and CEO, taking over from Joe Natale due to his reluctance to move his family to Western Canada from Toronto, where Telus has its headquarters and the core of its business. Entwistle, 52, served as CEO of Telus from 2000 to 2014 and served as executive chairman till now. Natale has agreed to serve in an Executive, non-Board capacity through year-end to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Telus says Entwistle will be replaced as chairman of the board by Dick Auchinleck and both men have agreed to serve in those capacities on a long-term basis.

...Notably, from the beginning of 2000 through July 2015, TELUS’ total shareholder return was 351 per cent, the largest among all telecom service providers around the globe, outpacing the number two incumbent by 63 percentage points.
