Telstra’s Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Penn, has been selected by the Board to be Telstra’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 May 2015, replacing David Thodey who is retiring. Penn, a former Group CEO of AXA Asia Pacific, has more than 30 years’ experience in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Asia-Pacific in roles including chief executive, finance, strategy and other executive positions. Andrew is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, has a Masters of Business Administration from Kingston University, London and is a Graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
He joined Telstra in March 2012 as the Chief Financial Officer. Andrew held a variety of positions at AXA, including Group Chief Executive (2006-2011), Chief Executive Officer for Australia and New Zealand, Group Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive for Asia and has been based in Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia.
