Ixia, provider of network testing, security enhancements and network monitoring for networks and data centers, announced that Bethany Mayer has been appointed by its board of directors as its president and chief executive officer. According to Ixia, Mayer has more than 25 years of experience with a string of high-profile positions in the industry. Prior to her appointment in Ixia, Mayer led Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) intiatives in Hewlett Packard(HP) as the senior vice president and general manager of its NFV business.
According to Ixia, Bethany has also led the HP Networking Business unit to deliver 12 consecutive quarters of growth as its senior vice president and general manager. Her other roles in HP includes as the vice president, marketing and alliances for HP’s Enterprise Servers Storage and Networking Group. Ixia added that before joining HP, Mayer was the senior vice president of worldwide marketing and corporate development at Blue Coat Systems, and held product marketing roles at Cisco Systems and Apple Computer. Mayer holds a Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University and an MBA from California State University, US.
