Verizon Communications, a leading US communications service provider, announced the appointment of George Fischer as the senior vice president of global sales at Verizon Enterprise Solutions. Verizon Enterprise Solutions provides advanced IT and communications services to enterprises and governments around the world.

The announcement, made by Christopher Formant, President of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, will see Fisher driving customer growth and increasing revenue  through Verizon’s direct and indirect enterprise distribution channels across the North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.  According to Verizon, George will be leading a team of 2,100 sales professionals in 82 countries. 

In its statement, Verizon said that Fisher comes with more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in global sales, service, client operations and general management, including his role as the vice president for worldwide sales and service at CA Technologies where he headed a USD4.4 billion business. Prior to that, Fisher held various positions at Memorex Telex, NCR and Reltech.

Fischer has a bachelor's degree in information systems and management from Syracuse University.
