Mobitel welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer, Ranjith G. Rubasinghe on the 27th of June 2014. Mobitel, a mobile network operator based in Sri Lanka, is a whollly owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom.
Ranjith brings to Mobitel extensive experience in IT, telecoms and human resource management and a string of achievements in these areas. His telecom experience includes 12 years of service in Sri Lanka Telecom where he was the head of “RAINBOW PAGES” (2006-2008). He also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of SLT Manpower Solutions (Pvt) Ltd where he transformed the organization to SLT Human Capital Solutions (Pvt) Ltd in 2013 and led it to win the award for “Excellence in HR through Technology” at Global HR Excellence Awards 2013, Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award 2012 and award for “Best in Recruitment and Consulting” at Asian Leadership Award 2011. 
Ranjith was also named the Chartered Engineer of the Year 2011 at Electrical & Electronic Engineering Sectional Committee of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) ’s Engineering Excellence Awards and was given the ‘HR LEADERSHIP AWARD’ at the Global HR Excellence Awards for the years 2010 and 2013 respectively.
Ranjith has an MBA from the University of Colombo, a BSc in Engineering and Electrical Electronics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering. In addition, Rubasinghe is a Chartered Engineer, Representative Fellow of the Council and the Chairman of IESL.
