Michael Foley takes over from Lars Christian Iuel as the new CEO of Telenor Pakistan

The appointment of Michael Patrick Foley as the new Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Pakistan is expected to propel the Operator's presence in the Pakistan telecommunications market, where it already has 35 million subscribers. The announcement of the appointment was made recently by Telenor Group and will be taking effect on the 1st of July 2014.  Foley will be replacing Lars Christian Iuel who has led the company to deliver strong market and financial performance as well as an agile management team and a competent organization ready to capture further market growth. Iuel will take up a senior management position in Telenor Group in Norway.

Foley, a Canadian citizen, has more than 30 years of sales, marketing and operational experience in the telecom and retail sectors from both advanced and growth markets. He has lived and worked in more than 11 countries. He currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer of the Canadian State Lottery, Atlantic Lottery Corporation. Telenor Pakistan is currently ranked as the second largest operator in Pakistan, and has been recently awarded the 3G license.
