MegaFon, a pan-Russian mobile operator announced that its Board of Directors has recommended to the shareholders that Gevork Vermishian be promoted as the new CEO of the company.

Sergey Soldatenkov, the current CEO has decided to leave the Company before the expiration of his contract in 2019. Soldatenkov was CEO of the Company from April 2003 to April 2012, and again in 2016.

Gevork Vermishyan was appointed Chief Financial Officer of MegaFon in 2011 and in 2017 he was elected as the Company’s Executive Director. Vermishyan graduated from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in the faculty of International Economic Relations.

Throughout this time we have been at the forefront of innovation: we were the first to launch new products and services, we surprised clients and competitors, and we were not afraid to change the sector nor, most importantly, to change ourselves.

Ivan Streshinsky, CEO of USM Management
I want to thank Sergey Vladimirovich for his huge contribution to the Company over the years. He is a unique person — he has spent his entire career in telecoms, and as a result he understands the sector better than anyone else.
