Claudia Goya the former president of Microsoft Portugal has been named by Altice as CEO of Portugal Telecom, taking over from Paulo Neves who becomes Chairman of the group.

Claudia who holds a degree in Technological Physics Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, started her career at Procter & Gamble. She led Microsoft Portugal for four years, before becoming COO of Microsoft Brazil since 2012.

Following the recent agreement of Media Capital’s acquisition, Paulo will lead the regulatory process of this latest acquisition and the coordination between Altice’s Portuguese assets.The new governance will allow Altice to be in a stronger position in Portugal.

Founded in 2001 by entrepreneur Patrick Drahi, Altice is a convergent global leader in telecom, content, media, entertainment and advertising with over 50 million customers over fiber networks and mobile broadband.
