Telenor Bulgaria announced this week appointment of Ole Bjorn Sjulstad as the new CEO of the company, taking over from Sasa Filipovic, who was appointed interim CEO on May 20.

Ole Bjørn is joining the Bulgaria team from Telenor Hungary. During his nearly 17 years spent with Telenor Group, Ole Bjørn has accumulated a broad experience in Asia, Norway and Eastern Europe.

Ole Bjørn joined Telenor in 2000 as Vice President of the Asian regional office in Singapore and later as Managing Director. After that he moved to Norway and continued focusing on emerging markets in Asia as Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Development.

In March 2007, he joined Telenor’s CEE region, while from March 2009 he served as Head of Telenor’s representative office in Moscow, Russia, for six years. Most recently and for the past two years, Ole Bjørn is the Chief Corporate Development Officer in Telenor Hungary.

Sjulstad holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Kongsberg Ingeniørhøgskole and he completed the Program for Executive Development at IMD, Lausanne in October 2008.
