Optus announced the appointment of Stuart Bird as Managing Director, Wholesale and Satellite, following the recent retirement of Robert Parcell. Prior to this, he was leading Telstra's Home and Business Products as a executive director.
Bird will be responsible for leading all parts of Optus’ Wholesale and Satellite division including sales, marketing, products, operations, and service delivery, and will articulate Optus’ vision to its wholesale partners and satellite customers.
Optus said Bird is an accomplished senior executive with more than ten years’ experience in the telecommunications sector. He has held senior positions at Telstra and Vodafone. Bird joins Optus from Telstra, where he most recently held the position of Executive Director of Home and Business Products for Telstra Retail.
Bird will be a member of Optus’ Executive Leadership team and will report directly to Optus’ CEO, Allen Lew. Nitesh Naidoo will act as Managing Director for the Wholesale and Satellite division until Bird formally joins the team.
