Software Defined Networking(SDN) startup, Big Switch Networks announced that it has raised $48.5M in a Series C funding round. Since its founding in 2010, Big Switch which commercializes network virtualization technologies based on OpenFlow has secured $94M in total funding.
The financing comes as the company continues to drive adoption with a growth of more than 300% last year with customer wins across the US, APAC and EMEA regions in verticals including tech, financial services, government, service providers, and higher education.
The startup, this week also announced that it is rolling out a freemium version of its Big Monitoring and Big Cloud fabric software targeting system developers.
