Bangladesh Internet Exchange Limited (BIEL), which operates under the brand name Ollo announced its plans to invest US$20 million to roll out 4G LTE network outside Dhaka. The operator has already installed 4G network in the capital and some other cities, including Sylhet, Gopalganj, Jessore, Moulvibazar and Mymensingh districts.

The Russian-backed Ollo received the country’s third Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) licence in 2013 to deploy 4G TD-LTE mobile broadband service as well as mobile WiMAX. Banglalion and Qubee and five other 3G mobile operators were also awarded the LTE licence.

The operator also announced that they are investing US$100 per customer for infrastructure development.

We’ve already invested more than US$ 100 million and planned to invest another US$ 20 million shortly for network expansion to offer 4G LTE data service to the people living outside  the capital.
