Canada's mobile operator, WIND Mobile has signed a five-year deal with Nokia Networks as its sole network infrastructure provider and innovation partner to bring the most advanced LTE network technology to Canadians. Nokia Networks will deploy cloud-based core technologies that enable VoLTE, VoWi-Fi and IMS services. 

Under the deal, Nokia Networks will provide a comprehensive end-to-end solution that includes deployment of new radio LTE, LTE virtualized core and OSS (NetAct to support the LTE and core elements). The company will also deploy a full cloud-based core, based on OpenStack, which will include IMS, HSS, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi and Evolved Packet Core. 

The modernization of the Toronto-based operator will cover network implementation, network planning and optimization and care services, aimed at delivering consistent quality and ensuring a successful upgrade.
