South Korean mobile operator, KDDI has invested in Aoi.co, an operator of the AOI-ZEMI smartphone tutoring school, through the KDDI Open Innovation Fund.

Aoi Zemi is a startup that provides online lecture service for junior high school students. The company provides users with free live-streaming curriculum, hiring its own teachers to conduct classes over the net. Along with live streaming of lecture classes to smartphones and tablets, AOI-ZEMI features the ability for students to chat with each other and with lecturers using real-time chats. By utilizing this seamless communication, students can ask lecturers questions as they would in a real classroom and create classmates.
