Ayasdi, an advanced analytics company that provides machine learning software to a wide array of sectors including Communication Service Providers (CSPs) announced that it has raised US$55 million in a new round of funding. The exercise which was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), was also participated by existing investors, Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), Khosla Ventures, FLOODGATE, Citi Ventures, and new investors, Centerview Capital Technology and Draper Nexus.

Aysadi helps CSPs manage the increasingly complex information they handle as networks continue to grow and as subscribers continue generating new volumes of data. All the data created within the CSPs' domain requires advanced analytical capabilities to be processed and translated into insights and actionable inputs, which are key in a wide range of business processes. Ayadi’s advanced analytics solution uses a new technique of topological data analysis combined with machine learning algorithms to uncover these insights by correlating and analyzing complex data sets - customer profile, location, network, device, demographic, usage, billing and social media data.

According to Ayasdi, within the last year, their customer base grew rapidly to include a number of leading companies including Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Siemens, Lockheed Martin, Mercy health system, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, UCSF Medical Center, and other leaders in financial services, technology, healthcare, government and life sciences.
