AsiaInfo, a leading provider of Telecoms software, has announced the opening of its new European Nearshore Delivery Center (NDC) to support AsiaInfo’s increasing presence in Europe as the company begins a major joint project with Telenor Hungary. The center will be co-located within Telenor Hungary’s Törökbálint HQ near Budapest. AsiaInfo said the center will be headed by its Director, Chen Huapingit, a new recruit who was Chief Solution Architect in the Telecoms Business Unit of Hewlett Packard. The company expects to employ some 180 staff within the next two years and is planning to recruit more than half the workforce locally. The company also plans to use NDC to provide support services for up to eight European operator projects by 2016.

The Asia's leading BSS solution provider has also opened a co-located office in Telenor Denmark last year. Asiainfo established its major entry to European market when it signed a contract for its business support system (BSS) with Telenor ASA (Telenor Group) in November 2013.

Alex Hawker, European Managing director, AsiaInfo
Little more than one year after announcing our first major European project, we are now embarking on our second one, and at the same time opening up a major new delivery center to support our customers and our expanding business.

Christopher Laska, CEO of Telenor Hungary
Last year we celebrated our 20th anniversary, now we are preparing ourselves for the next 20 years: our new partner AsiaInfo will help us further improve the Telenor customer experience. “AsiaInfo will employ dozens of Hungarian developers, thus keeping local IT talents in Hungary and contributing to the growth of value-adding industries. I am particularly pleased that they are moving into the Telenor House in Törökbálint, further raising our profile as a center for excellence in telecommunications.
