Orange Spain recently announced that it now has 4G mobile connectivity in the entire Metro de Madrid network, including its 240 stations and 260 kilometers of route.

The operator thus completes the final phase of a multi-operator project, which started in the first half of 2019 in collaboration with Metrocall and whose objective was to maximize customer satisfaction, providing a continuous and optimal experience, both in calls and access. to 4G mobile Internet, during your journeys through the Madrid subway.

This project has been developed in different phases:

 - Phase 1, completed in the summer of 2019 and dedicated to guaranteeing and maximizing coverage within the 'Central Almond' (that is, all the sections located inside line 6, including this one), as well as on L7, in the section that connects the stations of Guzmán el Bueno and Estadio Metropolitano.

 - Phase 2, carried out until spring 2020 and focused on the extension of mobile coverage to the entire Metro Sur route.

 - Phase 3, destined over the last few months to provide connection to the remaining sections, until reaching 100% 2G / 3G / 4G coverage throughout the network managed by Metro de Madrid.

With this project in the Madrid subway, Orange Spain claims that its 4G coverage is now over 98% of the Spanish population.
