ZTE, TIM Brasil Open Broadband Innovation Center

ZTE Corporation and TIM Brasil, the second biggest mobile operator in Brazil have signed a partnership on ultra-broadband projects and have got together to setup a Joint-laboratory/Innovation Center in Brazil to spearhead research in this area. The opening ceremony was officiated by President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China and President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil at the Itamaraty Palace in Brasilia.

The center will focus on research in broadband technologies including XG-PON (passive optical network), NG-PON2 and G.Fast.

The latest development extends on the existing collaboration since 2012, where ZTE has been providing network gears supporting Live TIM, TIM’s fixed line ultra- broadband.

ZTE is delighted to partner with TIM Brasil to develop broadband technologies of the future. ZTE is committed to investment in innovations in next generation broadband technologies, which will be fundamental to the development of future telecommunications and information technology services.”
