Openet today announced the appointment of several key new hires within its management and sales teams as the company expands its presence in Japan.

Openet Japan has appointed Takako Matsutomi as Country Manager. Ex-Ericsson VP ICT sales, Takako’s primary focus at Openet will be driving our expertise and presence within the Japanese market. Joining Takako as Sales Account Director is Yoshihiro Nomura. He will oversee and increase the use of Openet solutions by service providers in Japan. Yoshihiro is also an ex-Ericsson hire, where he ran the Softbank BSS business unit.

Openet Japan has also appointed Sam Takagi as Senior Business Executive. In this role, Sam will be responsible for managing board-level relationships. Prior to joining Openet Japan, Sam worked for several leading ICT companies in Japan, including Google and Ericsson.

This announcement comes as Openet continues to blaze a disruptive trail within the industry, with its new approach to digital BSS. Openet’s Digital Business Platform recently won the Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice Awards and Word Communications Awards for BSS innovation.

Jason Buckalew, Openet's RVP for APAV
Openet has a long history in Japan. We’ve supplied policy and charging solutions to several of the leading service providers. However, the move to digital and the introduction of 5G will open up many new opportunities.

Takako Matsutomi, Country Manager, Openet Japan
Openet has some great solutions that can help service providers in Japan fast track their digital transformation and get ready for 5G. I am delighted to join Openet and lead the company’s growth in Japan.
