VodafoneZiggo introduces a new mobility policy for all its employees aimed at free travel by public transport to help reduce CO₂ emissions.

The decision to reimburse public transport for all employees is also in line with the Operator's choice for a new central head office in Hoog Catharijne, right next to Utrecht Central Station. All of the more than 7,500 employees at the offices and in the shops will receive an NS-Business Card from October onwards with which they can travel by public transport.

In addition to responding to the increasing need of its employees for travel by public transport, VodafoneZiggo expects to achieve a reduction of around 35 million road kilometers, about 3,500 tons of CO₂ per year, by opting for free public transport. That amounts to 873 times around the earth or more than 67,000 trips by car from Amsterdam to Paris.

Jeroen Hoencamp, CEO, VodafoneZiggo
We are aiming for more public transport and fewer cars. That means less CO₂ emissions, but also that our colleagues are no longer stuck in traffic and get into the city without any fuss.

Tjalling Smit, Director Commercial & Development NS
We are pleased with this collaboration with VodafoneZiggo, our future neighbors at Utrecht Central Station.
