Liberty Global, the largest international cable company serving 27 million customers across 14 countries, has launched MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) operations in Austria and Ireland, via UPC Austria and Virgin Media respectively, leveraging Amdocs Compact Convergence solution. The solution which was delivered in a managed services model enables Liberty Global to provide bundled offers by adding mobile to its existing cable, fixed-line and broadband services.

According to Amdocs, the solution spans multiple business and operational support systems (B/OSS) for ordering, provisioning, service creation and delivery, real-time charging and billing. Amdocs added that it delivered a similar solution to enable Liberty Global to launch mobile operations in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Hungary, and is now hosting all five markets on one centralized platform supported by its managed services which covers daily operations, maintenance, application development and testing.

Volker Libovsky, vice president of IT Integration at Liberty Global
Amdocs Compact Convergence delivers a broad range of core B/OSS capabilities as a truly integrated stack. This helps to ease deployment, enable smooth operation and reduce our time to market for new offerings.

Chris Williams, head of global marketing at Amdocs
By expanding their use of Amdocs Compact Convergence to additional markets in Europe, Liberty Global continues its journey to offer quad-play across its footprint, delivering rapid service innovation as expected in The New World of Customer Experience™, while accelerating business value through operational cost-efficiencies.
