ITV, the UK's leading commercial television network has renewed its playout services contract with Ericsson. The contract, which has been extended until 2024, will see Ericsson continuing to provide playout services for ITV's portfolio of channels including ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, ITV HD and CITV and their associated regional variants as well as ITV's newest TV channels, ITV Encore and ITVBe.

Ericsson said that as part of the contract, it has designed, built and integrated a state-of-the-art scalable simulcast platform for ITV. With its portfolio that includes Media Delivery Network, Ericsson Mediaroom and Cloud DVR, Ericsson added that it has shaped many evolutions in TV for over 20 years such as digital TV, IPTV, HD, and soon UHD and HDR.
