Following the launches with BBM Messenger in South Africa, the U.S. and Canada, Billaway, a U.S. based marketing technology company further extends BBM Rewards with Creative Media Works, the company, which operates and runs BBM globally, for consumers across Android and iOS platforms in Malaysia, Nigeria, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

BBM Messenger users across the four markets can now earn mobile airtime or gift cards via BBM Rewards when they engage in surveys and other activities. Free mobile airtime is available to anyone who uses the BBM Messenger application, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android smartphones. To participate in the service, the user simply clicks on ‘Rewards’ in the BBM Discover menu within BBM Messenger.

The technology used for this service relies on Billaway’s marketing platform, which can be integrated seamlessly into any mobile application. Since launching in South Africa two months ago, BBM Messenger users are saving up to 80% of their monthly airtime bill via BBM Rewards, claims Billaway.

BBM Rewards enables market research firms, polls and survey companies to seek consumer insights on a variety of topics such as sports, beauty, politics, food, technology and more.

Since it was created in August 2005, BBM has evolved from a free messaging application for communication (text and video) to a social eco-system unifying chat, social, commerce and services including bill payment, top-up, vouchers/coupons, news, games, comics, video, shopping, travel, career, sports and polls.

Paul Harkins, CEO of Billaway
Consumers’ opinions on important issues, current events, products and services are very valuable to organizations providing market research, polls and surveys. With BBM Rewards, you can now trade your thoughts and opinions for free mobile airtime, gaming credits or even tickets to local attractions.

Matthew Talbot, CEO of Creative Media Works
We’ve been busy adding a ton of new services to the BBM Discover menu that we know BBM users are interested to use in their daily lives.
